Making the image- Staging before/after comparison

Decluttering a shot can really make a difference! Lighting and composition are extremely important, but it's the little things that really have the potential to make or break an image. In both these shots the lighting and exposure stay the same, the only thing that changes is the removal of clutter.

The same image before the clutter was removed. Note how the pillow is blocking the view of the fireplace, the distracting picture frame in the lower right corner, the personal photos on the mantel, the clock and cord, and couch pillows all add up to a visually cluttered and distracting image.

Last round of recent work for a little while

I'm in the final stretch of completing a large photography project that's been keeping me busy this fall. I will be releasing a new portfolio of work encompassing everything I've been up to lately- hopefully by Thanksgiving. The site will be getting some tweaks too..
